Canning pears a great success! *** Join us for a pickling beets workshop!

Thanks to everyone that came out to our pear canning workshop in Dundas. This was a joint effort with Greening Sacred Spaces and Dundas Ontario In Transition (Do-IT). We had 17 participants and we canned enough for everyone to take some home with them. Thanks to St. Augustine's church for letting us use their kitchen and space. The amount of resources that came together to make this happen was overwhelming, participants brought extra jars, more fruit, pots and equipment. We would especially like to thank Judy, Louise, Alma, Lynn for their wisdom and guidance. A special thanks to Kathryn whose dedication to our project has been inspiring.

  1. I am so grateful to see this fruit being used for such a good cause! I hate seeing old fruit trees go to waste. I would love to see this stuff started everywhere. Why waste perfectly good food when there are folks who could use it, even if just to lower their grocery bill and help them get ahead? Great idea!
